On the left are links to key information about our school. If you can’t find what you’re looking for- please ask!
Two things we are often asked are: who is Eleanor Palmer and why the fish?!
Eleanor Palmer was a Tudor lady of repute, the daughter of Edward Cheseman, keeper of Henry VII’s treasure. Even though she had eight children she left land in Kentish Town, ‘Fortess Fields’, and its income to help the poor of the Parish. Our school is built on the land; one side on Fortess Road.
The fish logo is because we have a much loved pond in our entrance, complete with running water and filled with large goldfish!
Our school holds a lot of personal information – about pupils, parents, teachers etc. The General Data Protection Regulation is the law that says how we can hold, use and store it. We’ve always been very careful with the personal data we hold and we’ll continue to have the highest standards under the new laws.
We have a school wide Privacy Notice which tells parents what personal information we collect and hold, what we do with it, who we share it with and how long we keep it for as well as other important information.
The new law gives people more rights about how their personal information is handled. You can find out more about this on the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) website here . If you want to use one of your new rights please contact the school here and one of our team will be in touch with you. We have a Data Protection Officer who is Claire Mehegan. She can be contacted through the schools’ DP service by email: email@example.com.
Please rest assured that our school knows how important your and your child’s information is, and takes all appropriate measures to make sure it is kept safe and secure, processed lawfully and fairly and only shared with people that the law allows us to.
We also have privacy notices for Governors, Job Applicants, Staff, Contractors and Consultants, Trainees, Visitors and Volunteers. You can find copies of our Freedom of Information Procedure, ICO Model Scheme and FOI Schedule on our Policies Page here.
With the current Covid situation, we have also produced a track and trace letter to explain that we may be required to provide individuals’ contact information in order to comply with the NHS track and trace service.
