A message from Miss Meechan:
I am proud to be a Londoner. Even though it has only been for three short years so far, it feels like home. So I decided to fill a box with things that I feel represent my life in London, my likes and my hobbies. I thought this would be especially useful as we will be looking at people who live in different habitats around the world this term, so I wanted to see what was different about living in a city, compared to living in the countryside, the desert or the jungle.
Firstly, I included a pair of cycle gloves in my shoebox because I love to cycle in London, especially to discover new areas that were previously unfamiliar to me.
Secondly, I included some mint and some parsley in my box because I grow these in my garden. I have a small sunny patio that I have filled with herbs, flowers and even some potatoes.
There are lots of business cards in my shoebox because I collect them from places that I visit, mainly restaurants that I’ve enjoyed eating in.
There is a camera filter in my shoebox because I love to take photographs! I find it is another great way to get to know the city and spot details that I might have missed before, especially when looking at architecture or landmarks.
I included a blue prajeet which is an armband to show my grading in Muay Thai. This is a martial art that I have been practicing for many years and I found a club in London where I enjoy training.
Also in my box is a little lego Hermione, this is because I am a big fan of the Harry Potter books (who isn’t?!) and I also really like Lego!
I included a note that I found on my fridge from a friend of mine, it says ‘I hope you enjoyed your BBQ’ because I love to have barbecues on my patio or in my family’s garden.
Finally, I included a wedding magazine, because although I grew up in the countryside, I am looking forward to getting married in London to my London-born fiancé!
I am looking forward to seeing everyone else’s boxes in class today and discovering what we all like about this city that we are lucky to call our home! What did you include?
In my shoebox I put
A football trophy because football is a big part of my life and I couldn’t live without it.
A picture of my dad, my au pair, my brother and me with two Arsenal trophies.
For my shoebox task I divided my box into a side for things I like and things that I don’t.
My favourite item in my like section is a photo of some of my friends in reception, it’s so cute!
My most important item in my dislike section is some litter because I hate it that their is sooo much litter in London.

I have a book because I like reading and shin pads because I like playing football in London.
I liked my London sky line because I like the view.I like my kickboxing medal because I like kickboxing . I like my wonka bar because I like going to the theatre . I like my five guys card because I like going to restaurants.
My favourite thing I put in my box is my Menzies clan kilt bage. It is my favourite because it makes me proud to have and it is very important to me.
Today we had to share what we did for homework (shoe boxes).
I bought in a JD bag as my box. In my box was ear phones, football, boxing gloves, and a picture of my iPad. My favourite item was my JD bag because I really like JD it’s one of my favourite shoe brand.
I had an adidas shoe box because I love adidas and it is a big part of London.
I have a badge from Harry Potter and the cursed child because my mum cast it and I love Harry Potter.
I have a mini shopping trolley because who doesn’t love shopping and I love clothes which links on to my next thing which is a top because I love all the crazy fashion in London.
I have a swimming hat because one of my favourite hobbies is swimming.
I have a photo with some of my friends because I think friendship is really important.
In my box I put:
A picture of some pomeranians which are dogs that I really like.
A pair of swimming goggles to symbolise that I like swimming (my favourite stroke is breaststroke).
A “sound of vinyl” card because I have a record player at my house and I like songs.
A pine cone from Hampstead Heath because I like going on walks there.
A pack of cards with pictures of cats on them because I have a cat.
My final item is a sheet of paper with 2 places I like to eat (Stingray pizza and Spence bakery).
Firstly, I put my Evie bag in my box because I have had it for about 2-3 years, if you didn’t know already my Evie bag is my back pack that says my name on it!
Secondly I put my gymnastic ribbon in the box because it was a big competition and I came 6th out of 200 gymnasts, but also because gymnastic is probably my favourite hobby.
Next I put in pictures of London because I just love all the buildings in London and I am just so happy that I live here.
After that I put in an ocean ticket in. I put this in because I love going to the cinema but also Holloway Cinema is about 5mins from my house
Next I put in some headphones because it’s so helpful to have a pair of headphones because let’s say you are on a train and you want to listen to music headphones will do the job.
Evie
I love my rugby ball because I love playing on Hampstead Heath. For my birthday I went to oxygen and I loved it. I love the olympics.
I chose to put in a photo book because it contains loads of memories of my family and it’s really nice to remember everything. I also put in a clay card from the last brick maker in England, because I really enjoyed the visit and he was really nice. My next object is a teddy bear bookmark that shows my love for books and my love for soft and cute things. My last 3 things are a travel chessboard, because I love chess, my teddys pair of shorts which my mum made for me, and a bag of clay things that I made in year 4.
The first thing that I put in my shoebox was my plaster cast hands, which I made in nursery. I had to keep very still and when it was done I painted it gold.
The second thing that I put in my box was a Mr Twit puppet. The Twits is my favourite Roald Dahl book, and a few years back I went to a daily long club and made that puppet.
After that I put a string of bunting in to my box, which my grandma made for me.I use to have it in my bedroom when I was younger.
I also included a bookmark in my box, I thought that it was a good way to show my love for books.
In my box you will also find a cat toy to represent my lovely cats.
There is also a photo of me and my 100% badge.
In my shoebox I put a lot of things in. One of my favourite things where the the licker /spatula because I really like baking and I do it nearly every week. Also I put in a Hama beed lion because I really like going to the zoo. And I put in a Kids Trivia which is basically lots of questions I like playing it in the car on long journeys.
Hi I really enjoyed sharing my London shoebox .I am really proud of it and I feel that it tells you a lot about who I am and the things I like.
The first thing I put in was my goggles, I put them in because I go swimming weekly and I enjoy it so so much! Next is my moomin figurine because I am a big fan of the moomins. After that I have a rubber duck because I really love ducks. I also have a shell that I found on the beach in France because I love going on walks to the beach and finding shells. My penultimate object is a booklet about friendship, because I love my friends in London and am grateful to have them. The final thing is a pen because I always am sketching and I find it so relaxing and fun. That is all!
The first thing I put in my box is a photo booth picture of me and Lily because I rally like my friends,secondly I put in some nice shells as I like going to the beach,it is a shame that there are no beaches in London! I also have a picture of myself in year 4 because I love going to school and meeting my friends,also I put in some shopping tags as I really love going shopping in London. I really enjoyed boing this for home work!

In my box there was a picture of me and my mum when I was a baby. I like it because it reminds me of when I was young.
in my box I had a photo of me and my sisters and all the medals i have won from sport events in London.
In my shoe box I have lots of things but One of my favourite things was my fabergé egg which is really special to me because my uncle got it for me two years ago for my birthday, are you practising because I liked the little shops that know one knows about and that are tucked away.

In my shoebox I have put my mum’s LEGO business ‘card’ – it’s a lego figure. I have put it in because the London hub is so cool and the company is Danish, and I am 1/2 Danish.
I also put my cat’s collar because he is the King of Raveley Street and I love him.
I put my yo yo because I am crazy about it.
I put lots of books in because I am a bookworm.
I put Tarka the Otter in because it is the joint best book with Harry Potter. I put Harry Potter LEGO and a time-turner in as well as some moomin comic strips.
I liked my London pencil case because I got it from at west field and I really liked it. I really liked my photo of my neighbor who passed away and was really close to me. I liked my pearl bag that was really pretty I am going to make a bag just like that! I like my mirror because when i am going somewhere it really comes in handy because when i finish my food I might still have crumbs on my face and it will a bit embarrassing! In my box I have my top five food restaurants some London artists my favourite Football player Özil who plays for Arsenal my local team,Arsenal poster lyrics to a song that I like and the artist who made it grew up near my mum and her family the same time my mum grew up there.

My maps because I collect maps and I like doing it.
My journal of coins that I shaded in underneath the paper so I could draw it easier to do.
My yoyo because I loved to do it around the house and do a little bit of tricks.
My drumsticks because every Saturday I do drums and its really fun.

My Barbados wallet because when my grandma went to Barbados she got me it.

In my shoebox, I have grass because I love London parks I have my Arsenal t-shirt because I love where I live. I put sea shells because I love Southend beach.

I put in pictures of the things I like about London such as the graphite in brick lane, my cat and the view of London.
I put in a badge from my drama class as I love acting and it means a lot to me.
I put some goggles because I have loved swimming ever since I was little.
I also put some tickets because in London there are so many things to do and places to go.
I also put in a picture of a red bus because it symbolises London!
I also put in a picture that I drew because I love art!!
