Today Year 5 were visited by Lucia, Luca’s mum, and Lizzie Gillett who are both documentarians. Firstly, we talked about what we knew about documentaries, film and TV and how these mediums can help tell people’s stories. We then got to talk to Lizzie about her amazing documentary, The Territory. She told us about how it was filmed, who it was about and the different sides of the same story that is told. She answered all of our (many!) questions and we are so grateful to her for giving up her time. Then we started to think of our own ideas of EP as a territory and what we could make our own documentaries about to do with our community and our school. The children came up with so many fantastic ideas – Lucia and I were so impressed! We are looking forward to starting our documentary project very soon.
