Whole School Newsletter 15 06 25
There has been so much to celebrate across the school this week. Last night’s Summer Concert was a real highlight and a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the musical talents of our children. It was lovely to see the hall filled with families enjoying such a special evening together.
In class this week, Year 1 have approached their phonics quizzes with fantastic focus and determination, while Year 4 have been busy completing their statutory Multiplication Checks, showing the confidence and perseverance they have built throughout the year. We are incredibly proud of the way the children have taken these challenges in their stride. Year 6 also took part in an inspiring Women in Sport workshop, which encouraged them to think about teamwork, ambition and breaking down barriers. Year 3 enjoyed their trip to Folkestone, making the most of learning beyond the classroom. A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising and supporting our Eid lunch in school today. It was a lovely opportunity to come together and share in a special celebration.

Next week is Refugee Week with the theme, courage. Our assemblies will focus on how simple acts of courage and kindness can make others feel welcome. Examples include sharing books and films that develop empathy about other points of view, creating art and food, playing with new people, and appreciating the natural world where life works in connection and harmony. We will also be teaching children about Windrush Day which is coming up on 22nd June. There are some links in this padlet that you can explore with your children, looking for the age appropriate resources. On Friday we will have a Day of Welcome at EP, listening to authors including Michael Rosen giving live lessons and thinking about how we can be welcoming to everyone in our community and the wider world, so that everyone experiences our core value of Belonging.
