Sierra Leone Day 2!

Hi everyone!

We’ve had such a positive second day. We have been into nearly every class to teach a lesson including maths games, writing and reading. Playing ‘4 rolls to 100’ with one class got VERY heated – they might even be more competitive than you lot! Year 6 have made their card people so we’re attaching the bunting tomorrow and we’ll get a photo up of it ASAP!

We taught the children our EP song ‘Everywhere we go’ and they sang their hearts out – ready to show you via Skype or the blog! The wifi at school is not working yet so everybody keep your fingers crossed that it will be ready for our Skype assembly on Friday!

The children don’t have a playtime like we do in the UK so instead they have ‘afternoon games’ a few times a week. We all went into the street (which was as busy as ever, full of people bustling to and fro and local people selling a huge variety of goods) and sang songs with dances! The atmosphere was amazing – people just joined in with the singing and the children were so happy! We have just got back tired, sweaty and dusty (the dust on the streets gets everywhere) and are meeting people from the business side of Planting Promise this evening (the people who help raise the money and deal with all the administrative parts of running a charity.) Thanks for all the blog questions and comments. We miss you all so much! We can’t seem to load all our photos – we will keep trying! X
