Science with the Crick Institute

This week we were joined by two scientists from the Crick Institute.

We started our learning with a question, ‘what is in the bag?‘
Then we made some predictions, a silly prediction would have been an elephant so we thought carefully and predicted things like money, chocolate, or animal pictures.

Then it was time to get practical, using our senses we started to get more clues to inform or disprove our predictions.

We thought about adjectives to describe what we could hear, smell, see, feel and taste…It sounded scrunchy and rustled. It smelt fruity and flowery, we could see pink, red, white layers on a microscopic slide, it felt squishy and smooth and it tasted sweet…

Each sense gave us another clue and helped us to answer the question…It was some strawberry sweeties!
