Persuasive writing to reduce playground pollution

As part of their learning about power and different forms of energy, Year 4 were shocked to discover the pollution readings from our Purple Air monitor in the playground. Something had to be done!

You can see the live data here – https://map.purpleair.com/1/mAQI/a60/p604800/cC0#12/51.55514/-0.13947

We considered the options and decided to raise awareness in school and also write to the head of Camden Council – Georgia Gould. Year 4 learnt all about different persuasive techniques to make their letters as compelling as possible.

We are waiting hopefully for a response from Ms Gould. Perhaps she will offer to help fund a green wall in our playground, as some of our students suggested?

What can YOU do to help reduce air pollution in our local area?
