Nursery visits Tiny Giants at London Zoo

Our visit to Tiny Giants at London Zoo was the perfect finale to our Mini-beasts topic. Nursery Class has fully embraced this term’s topic and have become mini-beast obsessed! They know so many interesting and amazing facts. It was wonderful locating all the exotic ‘Tiny Giants’ – spotting the hidden Stick insects and listening to the hissing cockroaches. We even got to see the tarantula feeding time!

This term our class has become a mini-beast zoo! We made a class wormery, a slug home, a woodlouse habitat, a snail playground and have watched 20 caterpillars grow and grow – and turn into the most beautiful butterflies! We will release them today!

We have also witnessed tadpoles pop out of frogspawn… and we think they’ll be hopping around after half-term – perfect for our new topic GROWING!
