After talking about fruits when reading Handa’s Surprise and Oliver’s Fruit Salad, we were keen to try some new fruits In Reception. We had also been looking at money so what a great opportunity to combine two themes…so off to the historical Borough Market we went! We saw so much while we were there, cakes, lobsters, deer skulls….and loads of fruits and vegetbales. We saw some we recognised and some we didn’t. We picked the ones we wanted to try and paid for them with our money….with our tummies rumbling we ate our packed lunch in the beautiful market hall then headed back to school. Back at school we made our very own fruit salad picking and trying lots of the new fruits we had bought. We learnt we liked some new fruits and even if we didn’t love it we were pleased we tried it!
