BAFTA Time Capsule Winners!

Way back in the first lockdown (when Year 5 were in Year 3 with Miss T!), Sasha’s mum Alex organised and created an amazing film all about the children’s experiences of Covid and home learning.

The film is an incredible record of such a strange period in our lives and the children were really reflective about the challenges and benefits of learning from home. They missed seeing extended family and being with their friends in school, but many enjoyed the extra time with their household and having daily outdoor exercise in nature!

We entered the video into BAFTA Kids’ Time Capsule competition this year and….we won! That means the video has been edited together with other schools’ submissions and locked into a special time capsule under BAFTA’s HQ on Piccadilly. It won’t be opened for 25 years and will be an amazing record of what life was like for children living through the pandemic.

We were invited to take a group of children down for the ceremonial sealing of the time capsule so we pulled names from a hat at school and the lucky eight children came down for the afternoon. Excitingly, we met three CBBC presenters and Youtuber Nikki Lily!
