EP Highlights

As we come to the end of Week 6, it's hard to believe there are only two weeks left until the half-term break! The children are fully immersed in their new topics, with many year groups already enjoying exciting trips and visits to enrich their learning. Year 6, who returned from Wick Court last Friday are full of stories and memories from their residential. Next week, it's Year 5’s turn as they set off for their own adventure at Gilwell Park.

A huge thank you to parents, Amy and KiKi, who gave their time and energy to help Camden Clean Air build our new green wall planters in the KS2 playground. Next week Year 6 will help with the final stages of planting.

Year 1 went on their first trip this year - a nature walk in Waterlow Park. They found many autumn treasures, noticed the rich colours of the changing leaves and made autumn crowns!

Eleanor Palmer School Association AGM - Thursday 16th October

An open invitation for all our parents and carers to join the EPSA AGM in the Lab next Thursday 16th after drop-off.

At the AGM we look at the key highlights and challenges from the past year. We will share an overview of the school’s fundraising position, detailing income, as well as outlining priorities for the year ahead and voting on how to spend monies raised.

During this meeting, we will also review the constitution and elect or confirm PTA and Development Committee Officers. If you would like to nominate yourself as an Officer in either the PTA or Development Committee, please let Sally Hill know in advance of the meeting.

Your involvement, ideas, and support are invaluable — and we hope that you can join this important meeting.

 Book Fair

We will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair next week in the upper playground. The fair will be open before and after school, starting from Monday afternoon. With over 200 titles available—ranging from picture books and storybooks to fact books and biographies—there’s something for every age and interest. Payment is by cash or card and every sale helps us earn free books for the school library!

Autumn Term Reminders and Notes:

Dogs on site

We know that many families have much-loved dogs and understand that they are an important part of family life. However, if you bring your dog to school at drop-off or pick-up, please stay in the HomeZone and do not tie them to the school gates or leave them unattended.

Even the friendliest dogs can become anxious or unpredictable in busy, noisy environments, and may react unexpectedly or bark excessively. This can also cause adults and children to feel nervous or uncomfortable. Keeping the school site dog-free, with dogs supervised in the Homezone, helps us maintain a safe and calm start and end to the school day.

Jewellery

A reminder that children should not be wearing jewellery to school (including costume). Stud earrings and religious items of jewellery are permitted. Jewellery can easily get caught during an active day and cause injury. We also want to avoid upset if items are lost or broken.

Arbor and Club EP bookings

Bookings for Club EP (after half-term) will open this Saturday 11th October at 9:30am. We have 45 places available each day after school, but demand is usually higher than availability - particularly midweek. As the club is in place primarily to support working parents, please only book sessions where childcare is essential.

All bookings must be made through Arbor, so please make sure that your account is set up in advance. A guide is linked here Booking Clubs on Arbor -when you’ve navigated the first time it is straightforward!

Only dates with available club places will be displayed; if a date does not appear, it means the club is already full on that day.

If you need to cancel a booking, this cannot be done via the app. Instead, please contact the office before midday on the day of your booking (preferably sooner) so we can release the place to another family. If you do not cancel your club and your child does not attend, fees will apply.

Please also use Arbor to book Breakfast Club places. We staff this club according to bookings made, so whilst there are usually spaces, we need to know attendance numbers in advance.

Class Trips

A reminder to families that we request a voluntary contribution to help fund the many wonderful trips your children enjoy at EP throughout the year. While contributions are voluntary, we hope that most families will feel able to offer support. Your contributions help us keep the core school budget for essentials.

The payment option is unfortunately tucked away within Arbor, please navigate to Trips and then Class Trips 2025-26 to make payment. Thank you
