Keeping it EP this week…

We have been looking hopefully for signs of spring, and are seeing some quiet signs as the first snowdrops are peeking through in our garden and wildlife is starting to return.

Across the school, we have been focussing on the life skill ‘resilience’. Resilience is the ability to bounce back when things are tricky, don’t go to plan, or feel challenging. For children, learning resilience helps them to manage emotions, solve problems, and keep trying even when something feels hard. By building resilience early, we support children to grow in confidence, develop a positive mindset, and learn that mistakes and challenges are a normal, and valuable, part of learning and life.

Children are fully immersed in this term’s topics and have had lots of trips this week to help make connections and bring learning to life - The Charles Dickens Museum, Natural History and Science Museums and The Young V&A. We are fortunate to have so many brilliant immersive cultural opportunities within easy reach. Early Years had a visit from The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and Year 5 have completed their two week swimming block. The Year 2 art project with Kally, inspired by block painting by artist El Anatsui and Frida Kahlo portraits, is on display and looks beautiful! All of these fantastic learning and enrichment experiences are supported by our Keep it EP fundraising.

EP Bingo Night!  - next Thursday 5th February

The PTA’s first 2026 fundraiser is taking place next Thursday from 5:45pm. Everyone is welcome (whether or not you have played Bingo before!). It’s always a brilliant community event and great for number-spotting!

Entry is £3 adults and £1.50 children, which buys you 9 consecutive games of Bingo. Bingo dobbers are £1, or bring your own pen. There will be a paying bar and food too. The evening finishes once we have played the 9 games - likely to be around 8pm - depending on how quickly the cards fill and the cry of ‘Bingo’ goes up. Cash prizes up for grabs!

A few event reminders please:

  • All children coming to Bingo should be accompanied by an adult, who must remain responsible for them throughout the event
  • Usual phone rules apply for children - any phones brought to school must be handed in and will be returned after the event ends
  • The playground is not open to children during Bingo

Royal Academy Young Artists’ Competition

We have registered EP for the RA Young Artists' Exhibition. Competition winners show their work in the online gallery and previous EP artists have been chosen to exhibit at the The Royal Academy itself! The artwork can be made using any medium. It can be a painting, sculpture, photograph, installation, video, drawing or a combination. Open to ages 4 – 19 years, contact Sophie in Reception, sophie@eleanorpalmer.camden.sch.uk by Tuesday 24th February to submit. Send with a short description including title, size, and a little about the artwork and why you made it. A great half-term project?!   https://youngartists.royalacademy.org.uk/
