Keeping it EP with our first Quiz Night!

A night to remember in every sense! Fabulous food, clever quiz questions and friendly competition, laughter and connection all in our beautifully decorated hall. A warm and wonderful evening that, once the final total is confirmed, will take us a huge step closer towards a new playground tower, to create countless opportunities for play and adventure for generations of EP children.

The organisation involved in events such as this are mammoth, with too many people to thank here by name - so a huge collective thank you for the incredible support, generosity, and community spirit shown. But we do have to mention quiz master Alex for his fun and fiendish questions, Maya and Yonatan for the most delectable food ever to come out of a school kitchen, and our amazing Development Committee who devised, planned and executed every perfect detail of this wonderful night. Thank you!

In other EP news…

Year 5 attended their second workshop with ShiftED. They’re making their own cam automaton toys, developing brilliant design and technical skills in the process.

Our Year 3 and 4 football squad played friendlies on the Heath on Tuesday, building teamwork and confidence. Special mention to Blake who took charge as ref for all the girls’ matches!

Thank you our young environmental stewards in Reception who set to work to collect litter, learning about our shared responsibilty to take care of nature as part of their topic ‘Save the Turtles’. Week 2 of term and they are already passionate campaigners!

EP Votes!

All children used their democratic voice to vote on the colour of the Run Kids Run t-shirts. It was so good to watch them share opinions, make their choices and have their say. Orange was the ‘elected’ colour - delighting Coach Martin, who we suspect may have run a strong campaign! More news on buying RKR t-shirts (optional) to follow.

Summer Fair Artwork Competition

To help promote our fair, our sponsors Martyn Gerrard will print posters and it is always lovely to use children’s designs for these. We are running a competition to design a Summer Fair poster - the prize is the art in print!

Word details are optional, but children might  include Eleanor Palmer School or Saturday 4th July 12-3pm in their drawings. We look forward to seeing the brilliant designs!

Deadline for entry - drop-off Friday 8th May

Spaces at EP Nursery this September

We have some spaces arising for entry into our outstanding Nursery this September. If you have friends or family who might be interested in joining us, please let them know to contact Tania. Our Nursery cohort in September have birthdays falling between 1/9/22 and 31/8/23. As many of you know, experience of a school Nursery is a great foundation for school, and we’re so lucky to have a brilliant Nursery team, lots of space for discovery and fun and the opportunity for learning with specialist PE, art and music teachers.

Don’t forget to sign up for the fun run on Sunday 17th May 11am-1pm!

Run Kids Run is a 2km fun run taking place around the Kings Cross development. Nursery and Reception have a shorter 1km race.

Lots of Camden schools take part and EP always have fantastic participation as it’s great fun, builds confidence and provides a fantastic sense of achievement and belonging as children come together to fundraise for our school.

How to take part:

  • Register your child/children – register each child individually on the link below.

            Register to Race!

  • Ask for sponsorship - let friends, family, neighbours and ‘everyone you know’ about the run and ask for sponsorship by sharing the link below.

           Sponsored Fun Run

We are ordering the children’s choice of orange t-shirts and will share details soon of how to purchase (optional).

Kally

As the school year ends in July our wonderful art specialist Kally Lawrence is retiring after 19 years of teaching at EP. Every child in the school is taught by Kally across the year, and she has nurtured the creative minds and skills in all our children, helping bring topics and learning to life. Visitors to EP always comment about the beautiful art throughout the school - and whilst some displays are temporary, we are so happy that we have lasting ‘Kally art’ in mosaics, noticeboards, hanging mobiles and sculptures in every area of school! We will of course arrange a special goodbye to Kally later in the term.
