Today, we went to the British Museum to learn about the artefacts that have been discovered from the Anglo-Saxon and Viking times. We saw some amazing items such as the famous helmet that was found at Sutton Hoo, we saw all sorts of jewellery and swords AND lots of eating and drinking apparatus! We compared these to the things that we have now, took time to think about the jobs that people would have had then and their responsibilities and spotted the materials that things we made out of then. The children learnt a lot and we enjoyed finding all the items we had learnt about before we went!
