Run Kids Run on Sunday 14th May- sign up for the fun run!

We’ve signed EP once again up for this 2km fun run on Sunday 14th May at 11am. Taking place around the Kings Cross development and running on a pedestrianised loop – children run at their own pace to help fundraise for EP. Nursery and Reception have a shorter 1km race.

OUR GOAL

  • To raise £15K to spend on a wellbeing space at EP – to convert and improve the small, somewhat gloomy room just inside Juniors to allow for more small group learning and wellbeing sessions.
  • To join together and get active for a great cause
  • To have fun!

HOW CAN CHILDREN GET INVOLVED?

Full details of registration, including withdrawal of photo consent, are detailed via the link.

Children must register in order to join the race.

  • Ask for sponsorshiplet friends, family, neighbours and ‘everyone you know’ about the run and ask for sponsorship by sharing this link

We can provide paper sponsorship sheets too for cash donations.

  • Contact businesses/employers – requests by children are very effective – write to employers, contractors or businesses to ask for support. Many companies know the benefits of corporate social responsibility for their business and are happy to contribute.

TEAM EP T-SHIRTS

We have ordered Run Kids Run Team EP 2023 t-shirts in sky blue this year. These are £10 each with profits to the fundraising target. Obviously purchase is optional and children can wear another top for the race. More news on t-shirts and how to purchase them to follow.

The event will be led by Run Kids Run who are co-ordinating with lots of schools across the borough to make it a fantastic Camden community event. Last year’s run was a great success and raised a crucial £12k for EP! This came from direct sponsorship for children from friends and families, and from corporate sponsorship arranged by Run Kids Run. This total also includes over £2k from reaching out to local businesses. Last year was such a great day – have a look at photos!

It is a fun run, so there is no need for children to worry about winning or losing as they are not competing against each other – they are running for the challenge, to take part with friends, to have fun and to know that every step they run helps our school. Children run in age groups, with parents cheering along the way and children under 5 years joined by parent/carer as they run (or skip or hop!)

Coach Martin will be making sure that Team EP are ready for this challenge by training and race preparation in PE. Our children prove every day how much energy they have, so we know that they have the stamina!

Run Kids Run is such a positive way to make a difference. Through funds raised at RKR 2022 we have been able to introduce the Wellbeing Curriculum – including the wellbeing workbooks used by the children. It has also supported the cost of our school counsellor and Wellbeing training for staff.

We would like to continue to fundraise for Wellbeing this year and our goal is to convert and improve a room for the purpose of small group work and Wellbeing sessions. The room is next to our greenhouse and planters, so with enough funds raised, we could also add garden access.

This event in itself is so good for children’s physical and personal development, for building confidence and self-worth, so the perfect challenge to set for a Wellbeing goal!

Target £15,000
