This week, Spice Monkey catering school hosted an Indian cooking workshop in our lab! This was such a great day learning all about the origins of the aromas that create the unique flavour of Indian cuisine. We learnt the essential survival skill of cracking open a coconut and some of the children were brave enough to sample the spices as we discussed each one in turn.
Our chef demonstrated how to make a split yellow pea dal and the children got the chance to make their own chapatis and Pedas (Indian dessert infused with saffron). The children really enjoyed this hands-on experience, especially the tasting of their tasty creations afterwards!
