Year 5 had the most amazing automata workshop on Friday! They learnt all about cams, cam-followers and a cam shaft!!
An automaton is a control mechanism designed to follow a predetermined sequence of operations – ours was determined by the position of our cams, everyones was slightly different! Our themes included ‘Brilliant Bodies’ and ‘Life-Cycles’ – especially the life-cycle of a chick!
They have been displayed in the resource area for everyone to enjoy!
