We welcomed the author of our class novel, Tall Story, to Year 5 today. She talked about her journey to becoming a brilliant author and then answered all of our questions. We were eager to find out what inspires her to write, how she chooses names for her characters, how she manages to write in different ‘voices’ and much more. Tomorrow, she is announcing the winner of the Jhalak Prize, which celebrates books by writers of colour. We can’t wait to find out who wins! Thank you for taking time to come in, Candy!
