Centurion Charlie Lupton came to Year 4 and we had the most fantastic day making a variety of Roman replica items, including two onagers (a type of catapult), a model of the bridge that the Roman army built across the River Rhine and a section of Roman road! At the end of the day, we all got a go at firing the onagers. It was terrific fun and we learnt a lot – just ask anyone in Year 4 exactly what a Roman legionary had to carry with them as they marched around the empire!
